Understanding Candle Warning Labels

All our candles come with warning labels, no matter how big or small they are. This is to ensure you know how to stay safe while enjoying the fresh scent of a pure, plant-based soy candle. It is fire, after all.

The first section of each label includes a fire and personal safety warning, detailing the things you should do while burning your candle—every single time. First, always burn your candle where you can see it. Keeping it in sight allows you to make sure it’s burning safely at all times. Second, keep your candles away from combustibles and items that react to heat. And finally, always keep them away from children and pets.

Next, each label includes the scent, and details that it’s a hand poured, soy wax candle. This means that melted wax is mixed with the all-natural fragrance and poured into the vessel by hand. Crafted in small batches, our candles are made with an artisan feel, while observing firm quality standards. After the scent we always include our contact details, so you know how to reach us at all times.

Candle guidelines come after our contact information. This includes information on how long you should burn your candle for each time and ways to maximize your burning efficiency. This will help prevent tunneling and keep your candle looking—and burning—great.

Finally, we list how much wax is in the vessel and the estimated burn time. This is the number of hours your candle should burn for, provided you follow our detailed instructions. For example, if you keep your candle lit longer than four hours at a time, you will affect its total burn time. Burn time is determined by the type of wax used, the fragrance load in the candle, the color load (if color is used), and the wick. Soy candles have a longer burn time than traditional petroleum based candles. One of the many reasons we hand craft our candles with pure, plant-based soy.

Our warning labels are flame resistant and able to withstand extreme heat. Every time you light your candle, follow the information on the label for safe and efficient burning.

Stay safe!
